Week 1: Honoring the Past

January 1–5, 2026
Theme: The Roots of the Civil Rights Movement

Events:

  • January 1: National Kickoff Ceremony – Virtual event celebrating historic milestones in civil rights.
  • January 3: Film Screening: Eyes on the Prize followed by group discussion.
  • January 5: Student Art & Essay Contest Launch: “Heroes of the Civil Rights Era.”

Week 2: Voices for Change

January 6–12, 2026
Theme:
The Power of Advocacy and Allyship

Events:

  • January 7: Panel Discussion: Youth Activism and Social Justice Today.
  • January 9: Volunteer Day – Support local nonprofits advancing equity and inclusion.
  • January 11: Book Club Spotlight: March by John Lewis.

Week 3: Equality in Action

January 13–19, 2026
Theme:
Civil Rights in Education, Work, and Law

Events:

  • January 14: Guest Speaker: Civil Rights in the Modern Era.
  • January 9: Film Screening: Hidden Figures.
  • January 19 (MLK Day): National Day of Service – Join community cleanup or mentoring projects.

Continuing the Legacy

  • January 23: Social Media Campaign: #CarryTheDreamForward – Share your commitment to equity.
